The transition to long-term Gymnasium (LZG) is a particular challenge for many students. Especially in the subjects French and Latin, there is often a steep learning curve, and many students need to prepare intensively for the demands ahead. Our holiday course in the last week of the summer holidays offers the ideal preparation for the LZG.
This course is ideal for students who are preparing to start long-term secondary school or who have already attended the ‘Preparation for the secondary school trial period – Latin & French’ course and would like individual adaptation to their needs.
Course content
French
- Our teaching materials: Le Cours Intensif and our in-house French teaching materials
- Focused on vocabulary, grammar and sentence structures, specifically tailored to the requirements of the LZG
- Text comprehension and practice of exam topics for the LZG
Latin
- Revision of important grammar topics and introduction to Latin sentence structure
- Exercises and application of vocabulary for later LZG lessons
- We use the most widely used Zurich gymnasium teaching material: prima nova
Course objectives
- Smooth transition to long-term secondary school
- Individual adaptation of the course depending on the prior knowledge of the participants
- Targeted preparation for the linguistic requirements in French and Latin
