This holiday course offers your child the perfect preparation for the German exam required for admission to short-term secondary schools. We focus on two key areas of the exam: text comprehension and vocabulary as well as essay writing.

Focus 1: Text comprehension and vocabulary

In recent years, vocabulary has become increasingly important, while the grammar section of the exam has been reduced. We therefore place particular emphasis on:

• Targeted strengthening of vocabulary
  
• Word formation and word families
  
• Improvement of language skills for effective handling of texts

Focus 2: Essay training

The essay section is one of the central challenges in the upcomming gym exam.

We teach the structure and technique for different types of essays:

• Discussion
  
• Description
  
• Experience narrative
• Analysis
• Self-reflection

Your child will write 5 essays, which will be corrected in detail to address specific weaknesses.

The course is for students in the 2nd and 3rd years of upper secondary school who want to prepare intensively for their Gymiprüfung in March.

The course can be booked as a supplement to one of our other Gymikurs courses or without any prior knowledge.
