Why good preparation is crucial for your child
For many students who have made the transition to the upper school, weekly preparation for the gymi starts after the summer holidays. Did you know that the gymi entrance exam topics are identical between the second and third years of secondary school? It is essential, especially in secondary school, that the same gymi exam is taken in the second and third years of secondary school. This means that students with different levels of ability take part in the preparation for the gymi and later, of course, take the gymi qualification test with a correspondingly insufficient or inadequate level of knowledge. We also find this suboptimal and would like to reduce this imbalance to create identical opportunities. No matter whether your child decides to transfer to the gymi from secondary school two or later.
In our advanced course, we ensure that the mathematical and verbal basics are mastered, even if they have not yet been covered at school. Our advanced course enables the best possible start to the Gymi preparation and we ensure that the preparation runs efficiently and in a motivating way.
*The courses can also be booked individually on request and subject to availability.
Advanced course in German and Maths for students in secondary school
Best possible preparation for the gymi preparation after the summer holidays
Our advanced course in German and Maths for students in secondary school (high school) offers targeted support in the subjects German and Mathematics.
In German classes, we focus on grammar, vocabulary and essay writing. In grammar, we review the basic topics (tenses, parts of speech, sentence structure, cases, sentence elements) so that there are no gaps and we can build on them. In addition, we cover vocabulary topics that are relevant for the Gymi exam so that students can better manage their workload in the run-up to the exam.
In Mathematics, on the one hand, basic skills (equations, term transformations, textual tasks, Pythagoras, Thales circle) will be repeated and consolidated, and on the other hand, new topics will be discussed. For example, the topic of probability is only covered in the third year of secondary school shortly before the Gymi exam, and we will cover this in advance in the course.
